
The aspiration of Guiding Light Yoga is to make the multiple benefits of yoga attainable and accessible to all. Students are nurtured and guided at their own level to transform their personal yoga practice and to discover their unique wisdom, their own inner light.
Iyengar Yoga, created by B.K.S. Iyengar, is known for its use of props, such as belts and blocks, as aids in performing poses and is characterized by great attention to detail with a precise focus on body alignment. Through the practice of a system of poses (asanas), it aims to unite the body, mind and spirit for health and well-being. The pace of class is calm and deliberate. Iyengar Yoga is firmly based on the traditional eight limbs of yoga, emphasizing the development of strength, stamina, flexibility and balance, as well as concentration and meditation.
